ADVISORY: Senator Josh Newman, ‘House of Cards’ Producer Dana Brunetti, others to Rally on Military & Veteran Suicide Awareness & Prevention Day

Sacramento, CA – On September 6, 2017 on the East Steps of the State Capitol, a coalition of veterans groups and mental health organizations will gather to raise awareness for military and veteran suicide prevention.

Senator Josh Newman, who authored Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 65, to commemorate September 3 -9 as Military and Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention Week, will speak during the three hour program. He will be joined by Dana Brunetti, a fellow veteran and producer of the popular HBO series ‘House of Cards’.

Military and Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day and Week seek to bring attention to a stigmatized topic, strengthen community, and energize efforts to save the lives active duty service members and veterans who honorably take on the responsibility of protecting and serving their country.
