Upper House Updates:
The Reyes Rewind Senate Edition
I’m pleased to bring you the first edition of my newsletter. Each month, my team and I will share the latest from our vibrant Inland Empire community and the good work being done in Sacramento on your behalf. I’m especially proud to have introduced SB 800, my proposal to increase mental health among our youth and keep them safe from harm. My team and I also hosted a webinar to empower attendees with factual information about our legal rights, regardless of an individual’s immigration status. We also honored distinguished women leaders across Senate District 29. Read further to learn more about these stories and to get a glimpse of what my team and I have been up to since the start of the new year.
Enjoy!

New Legislation Introduced
In Sacramento, our team is busy working on legislation that will have a meaningful impact on the Inland Empire. Earlier this year, I introduced 17 different proposals that will provide more resources to our students, support our small businesses with contracting opportunities, and ensure employees are notified of their rights in the workplace.

That is why we brought together key stakeholders including the Attorney General’s Office, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, and elected officials across the Inland Empire to host a Know Your Rights webinar to serve our community.

This year, we continued that tradition by hosting our 9th Annual Women of Distinction Luncheon for the first time as your Senator! We received hundreds of nominations across multiple fields including public service, health care, business, and advocacy and ultimately honored 25 individuals at this event
