Reyes Issues Statement on 2026 Committee Assignments

(SACRAMENTO) — Senator Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-Colton) issued the following statement in response to Senate Leader Limón’s announcement of 2026 Committee Membership Appointments:

“Topics of discussion regarding consumer protection, education, environment, and the law have, for generations, been held without proper representation of Inland Empire communities – and we are most impacted by such decisions. These assignments perfectly position me to continue forging a path toward justice for working families. For the last nine years, we have achieved significant improvements on air, land use, and education – and today marks the next stage of progress for our region. I look forward to continuing my service to you in the Senate and will ensure that our needs are addressed in Sacramento.”

For the 2026 Legislative Session, Senator Reyes will serve as Chair of the following committees:

  • Budget Subcommittee # 2 on Resources, Environmental Protection, and Energy
  • Legislative Ethics Committee.

In addition, she will serve as member of the following committees:

  • Banking and Finance
  • Budget and Fiscal Review
  • Education
  • Energy, Utilities, and Communications
  • Joint Legislative Budget
  • Judiciary
  • Privacy, Digital Technologies, and Consumer Protection
  • Senate Rules Committee
