Wildfire Resources
In light of the devastating wildfires currently affecting Southern California, driven by strong Santa Ana winds and dry conditions, it's crucial to stay informed about local services and preparedness measures. The National Weather Service forecasts that further intense winds expected. To help you get ready, here are some useful resources:
Emergency Alerts
Sign-up to receive important Emergency Alerts at San Bernardino County Emergency Alerts or visit Extreme Wind Event – Office of Emergency Services
Insurance
Conduct an annual Insurance Checkup to know what your policy covers. Use this Home inventory Guide to take inventory of your personal property. Did you know? State law REQUIRES a mandatory one-year moratorium on insurance companies canceling or non-renewing residential insurance policies in certain areas within or adjacent to a fire perimeter after a declared state of emergency.
Power Service
For residents serviced by Southern California Edison (SCE), the Public Safety Power Shutoff Events webpage offers information on how weather conditions of relatively low humidity and strong winds, in combination with dry fuels, can threaten power supply. It also includes a link to the SCE power outage map and customer resources.
For more local support, Dial 211 or visit 211.org

Preparedness
Ready.gov and Readyforwildfire.org are THE places to go for getting better prepared for disasters. I am also including additional links below:

Price Gouging
Price gouging is illegal during a state of emergency. Suspected price gouging should be reported to local authorities or the Attorney General at oag.ca.gov/report.

Community Resources
For additional support and information, visit ConnectIE.org, a comprehensive resource directory that connects individuals and families to local services, including housing assistance, food programs, healthcare, and more. This is an excellent tool to help you find the resources you may need during challenging times.
Staying informed is essential, as knowing about local resources can play a big role in keeping you safe and prepared for any emergency. If my District Office can assist you in any way, please don’t hesitate to call us at 909-888-5360.
In closing, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the more than 8,000 brave individuals—firefighters, first responders, and members of the California National Guard—who are working tirelessly to combat these devastating wildfires.
Warm Regards,
