Senator Reyes presents resolution declaring Dolores Huerta Day

The California State Legislature approved Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 152, authored by Senator Reyes. proclaiming April 10 as Dolores Huerta Day in California. The resolution honors the life and legacy of Dolores Huerta—renowned labor leader, civil rights activist, and lifelong advocate for working families—and encourages schools and educational institutions across the state to recognize her contributions and share her story with students.SB 1075 builds on years of work to identify and fund projects that address disproportionate pollution burdens in disadvantaged communities by establishing clearer accountability, stronger oversight, and meaningful enforcement mechanisms to ensure local decisions align with community-driven air quality plans. Since first establishing Dolores Huerta Day in 2018, the Legislature has continued to recognize her impact and ensure that her legacy is reflected in the state’s history and civic life.
